Thank you so so much for all the wonderful birthday wishes. I'm just so grateful for so many people to have taken the time out of their day to do so, especially as I have not been super active of late. It really made my day, thank you!
To celebrate 1000+ watchers as well as the end of a successful con season, I have a give away going on my tumblr!
Prizes: First place: Copy of my Artbook Second place: Any 3 prints from my storenvy
Thank you all again for an amaaazing NDK!! I'm always so blown away by this con and the huge HUGE support I receive from staff and congoers for my art, both con related and notYou guys are the beeesssteeessssst <3333
For those that couldn't make it or if I was sold out of something you were interested in, you can still order prints and books from my storenvy!
I'm back from Fanime! I have a very mixed review of the con but I wanted to thank everyone that came by my table! Got quite a few of you using my coupon, so I think that's something I like to continue for my followers <3 I was rather under-stocked for the con due to ACen but you guys still surprised me by buying up nearly two columns of prints there, most of which were originals, so thank you for that support!!
I met tons of awesome people there and especially appreciate people seeking me out with being along the back wall and just plain lack of directions to the Artist Alley from the main hall. I was hearing some people thought there was no AA this year?!
And thank you to the artists that print traded me with! I just love what I got from you all <3 Not to mention the sheer joy of seeing old friends, meeting people for the first time and meeting new ones.
Also, thanks to you guys, I did well enough that I feel comfortable enough to treat myself to these glass frames that I utterly fell in love with back at Sakuracon. My glasses are really old, super beat up and scratched so I'm happy to replace them.
For things that didn't go so well, I don't think the AA was laid out very well and there was a noticable difference between not only the back half and front, but for those facing the walls too. Being in the back half and facing a all was not a terribly good location. Though I feel like I still edged out a little before most people got tired and turned back. Being in the back I didn't suffer from wind issues, unlike the poor people by the bathroom doors and front entrance. But certainly there was issues with the horrible grime in the air and on everything D: And while I did ok monetarily, it was still pretty low compared to last year. I'm not sure what I feel about Fanime right now and may be trying for Anime Boston next year.
Denver Comic Con and Coupon
I'll be at Denver Comic Con this weekend in the Artist Alley at table C11~! Please come by and say hi if you'll be there!
Sorry, no fancy coupon image but if you come by and say you want the "DCC Special" I'll take $5 off your purchase as long as if includes at least one print. This also combines with my usual deals too!
I'll be at Fanime at table 36 this year! It's kind of far back in the AA, just past the staff table, so I made a coupon to give you extra incentive to come all the way back! Just bring me the coupon or tell me you want the "FANIME SPECIAL" and I'll take $5 off any purchase that includes at least one print! Sorry, extra large prints excluded.
As some of you might have noticed (or probably forgot about since it was a while ago and I've been kind of quiet on this site) I haven't drawn my winter pic yet nor sent out postcards! I'm terribly sorry for that as I've been slammed with work these past 3 months as well as getting a new fulltime job recently. But while I'm still doing some freelance on the side, the big project that has been taking up most of my time outside of Gaia work is coming to an end so I'll be having more time! Hopefully you'll be getting postcards in April!
Ack I'm late! What a way to start off 2013, though I spent New Years Eve and Day socializing and working like mad to make sure I -wasn't- late on my deadlines. There was not much sleep to be had..
I hope you all had a good start to 2013! I don't do resolutions but there is some things I would like to address in 2013, mostly on getting more art done! Period. Being more involved with Milizia would be awesome too (I miss you guys) but I can't much guarantee things.
Looking back on 2012 I really don't post here too often besides finished works. If you want to see doodles, sketches, along with my thoughts and rambles (usually about my OCs), that can be found on my tumblr! You're always free to ask me questions here, but you can there as well!
As a thank you to my friends and watchers, I'd like to offer you all a winter card! Now I call it a winter card as my longtime fans might know, I tend to be notoriously late with my annual Christmas image, so I just call it 'winter' as you'll get it sometime then XD These are limited in quantity, first come first serve.
Today's a special day for me and it's been a really fantastic year. I've made a great number of new friends, many of whom are so talented and kind-hearted and I don't even know why they'd want to be friends with me. Have made strides forward in my career.
A lot of that has to do with you guys so I wanted to give a little back with a giveaway of a whole load of prints, many of my favorite pieces! <33
10+ high quality, letter size prints on glossy photo paper!
I have the giveaway going on tumblr: eldritchsky.tumblr.com/post/32… But you can enter here by just leaving a comment to be entered :3 Ends at the end of today!
NDK was mindblowingly amazing! Best year yet! Thank you all that came by my table to just say hi or get something, I really appreciate it. You all kept me wonderfully busy the two days I was there. Thanks for making my last con of the year of memorable one!
I sold out of a lot of stuff at NDK and many people have expressed still wanting stuff. You can check out my Storenvy zetallis.storenvy.com for that, though it might take a few weeks to fill out orders as I restock!
Unfortunately there won't be too much new art from me as I'll be really busy with my current work and freelance projects but I'll try to post stuff when I can!
I had not mentioned this before, out of respect for those involved since they wanted to solve it quietly and professionally, but I was utterly livid at Otakon due to how the AA staff had mistreated my friends. This goes beyond just enforcing rules but humiliating a person in a way they never should be.
I HIGHlY encourage you to read the entire post whether you're an artist, but also if you're an attendee. This is your convention, you should know what the staff are doing to people. From Zimmay: fav.me/d5ce7sh From Finni: fav.me/d5cehpd
TL;DR - Finni and I went to Otakon's Artist Alley and did our best to follow all of their rules. When the staff said we were breaking their fanart rule we followed their instruction despite our confusion. Finni asked them how we were breaking the rules and what we could do to fix it, and received no answer. As punishment for asking for clarification, the head of Otakon's AA privately threatened me over and over with banishment from the Alley. This man has thoroughly abused his staff power on several occasions, and this was only one of them. Despite calm and professional communication with Otakorp on this matter, the convention has only resolved to revise their rules. Again.
If you have been mistreated by AA staff, please let Finni or Missy know. They can help you get in contact with Otakorp.
I'm back from Otakon and had an amazing time! So many awesome people, thank you everyone that came by and/or got stuff! Here is a somewhat fuller report with some pictures eldritchsky.tumblr.com/post/28…
For those that weren't able to make it, I've set up a Storenvy with prints and my artbook as well so it's much easier to purchase.
