I was this close to tossing this whole pic. It took me 3 programs to finish it. First OC, then Painter, then Photoshop. Believe me, I didn't keep changing programs because I wanted to e_e
Other than it took far far too long I'm not commenting on it or you'd be reading a lot of ranting XP Oh and considering the hell that it was to do this, I probably won't be doing Ark's half ".Setting Sun." now.
BTW, how dark is it for other people? Can you still see the folds in the dark areas but it's still pretty dark?
And since I destroyed the line art, look for it somewhere else in my gallery. I actually liked it alot.
[edit] I forgot the hair strands that drape across the dragon...I might add them in...if I do I'll just post a link to the new version in this desc.[/edit]
[More Edit] Ok here's ( [link] ) the version with the hair strands. Which do you like better? [/edit]
Crisp, clean and beautiful work here. The smooth style with colouring is absolutely stunning, the light on the face of the character is well put together. The shadowing and light work overall is very well done, especially the clothing design and folds. The light on the stone pilars seem a bit sporadic in some areas, not as flowing as others, but it still gives it a great look. The style in which the moons were done is interesting, but doesn't go with the style of the picture overall as much...seems more...well...hard to describe in terms of style. The left eye seems a mite larger than the right with the perspective, though I do love the purple/green contrast. The feet seem a bit awkward, toes could be more accented and the seperation between the feet could be more profound. The woodworking dragon piece is excellent, brilliant work.
Very beautiful. I hate haveing to switch programs in the middle of a picture. Huge pain in the ass.
I love the detail in her hair - and I can see the folds in the fabric just fine without it being to light.
Lovely!

It's gorgeous Oni ;_;
It really is. I love how delicate you can make an image seem. You would never know the type of job she has. She looks so innocent and thoughtful.
The hair draping across the dragon would be a nice touch and maybe add some more depth, but I know how hard it is sometimes when you're fustrated with coloring an image. I just wish my CGs came out this beautiful.
The dress on my screen shows up nicely. The highlights and shadows are visable until it drapes down over the ledge, at which point I can still see some blue source lightling on it. It looks perfect.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
