~Waiting~ Journey is definitely one of my favorite games. It's simply brilliant on every level. The first time I played the game a white cloak guided me through most of it, always waiting patiently for me. And that feeling has always stuck with me. That I would have this kind and patient companion as we made our way through all the good and bad, joy and despair.
I love this game too and I only watched my husband play it! I was pretty much entranced by it. This is a suuuper pretty piece, and I think it really envelopes the feel of the game. Love how the scarf flows off and points towards the final destination. Very cool. <3
Also one of my favorite games! I've played it at LEAST 50 times. It's perfect except for the fact its way too short. And my favorite part is guiding the red cloaks to the glowing symbols and stuff.. (maybe I guided you through it! ohoho~)
I love this piece you drew. To me it seems like the darker side of the game which people don't think exists at first because of the beauty of the desert and flow of the game... until you play the game.
Very powerful composition, the tombstones (?) guide your vision to the center of the piece and the character, and the character's scarf brings that further to the mountain beyond. ;v;
I love the subtle turns and twists in both the scarf and the cloak. It makes the character look much less static, even though they are simply standing there. I think this less-refined look suits the subject very well. c:
You did a really good job of detailing the cloak and scarf as well, I particularly like the way the patterns on the cloak bend accordingly with the folds. ouo
And the colours are lovely, the bright white and gold really contrast with the darkened grey background and I like the effect it has. c: All those little tombstones though hnn. I think they really bring out the unknowing, mysterious feeling the game has.. with that ever-present mountain in the background.
